A motorcyclist who was clocked by Wiltshire RPU driving at speeds in excess of 130mph, was arrested at his home address last night, 14th April.

Officers spotted the rider travelling at speed on Friday 12th April -  travelling on the A4 through Beckhampton and followed him through Yatesbury and Cherhill, heading towards Calne - at which point they stopped the pursuit on safety grounds.

Police say the rider was surprised when they called at his home address last night where he was charged, remanded and will be receiving a court date shortly.

PCSO Mark Cook said: “As a motorcyclist of over 30 years, the standard of riding shown here showed a complete disregard to any other road users safety, and one of the worse I’ve ever seen on our roads.

“The A4 through Cherhill often has pedestrians and horse riders crossing the road. The speed limit is there for a reason.

“Roads Policing and Neighbourhood Officers have been conducting speed enforcement checks in this location, and will continue to do so for any vehicles not adhering to the speed limits.

“Please keep to the posted limits. The limits are there for a reason. Also show respect to yourself and others on our roads.”
