Wiltshire Police came to the rescue of nine ducklings on a busy motorway yesterday, 21st May.

Motorists contacted police yesterday after spotting a family of ducks on the M4.

Sadly, when the road policing unit arrived at the scene the mother duck had been killed on the road. However, officers managed to collect her  9 ducklings safely.

The ducklings are now in the care of Oak and Furrows Wildlife Centre where they will be hand-reared until they are old enough to be returned to their natural surroundings.

We contacted the centre to ask how the ducklings are doing, a spokesperson for Oak and Furrows said: "Early days but the ducklings are doing well."
