Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault outside a pub in Chippenham in the early hours of this morning (19/05).
At around 2.40am, two people assaulted a man in his 20s outside the Black Horse in New Road, Chippenham.
The victim sustained serious head injuries and has been taken to hospital for treatment.
A man in his 30's has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm in connection with this incident and remains in custody for questioning.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to the incident, or who may have information on the lead up to it, to please get in touch.
