THE A4 in Quemerford has re-opened this evening following a head-on collision earlier today, 10/4.

Emergency services were called to the incident at about 1.50pm this afternoon, where a Honda CR-V and a Nissan had been involved in a head-on collision.

Fire crews worked at the scene to remove the roof and doors from the Nissan due to concerns that one of the occupants had sustained serious injuries.

All those involved in the crash were taken to hospital for further assessment. Police say a passenger in one of the vehicles suffered injuries that are described as “potentially life changing.” The occupants of the Honda CR-V were a woman and her three grandchildren and the Nissan - an elderly driver and passenger.

The road was closed in both directions between the turnings for Blacklands and Compton Bassett but re-opened at about 6.30pm.

Police are asking that anyone who witnessed the incident or may have dashcam, to call 101 quoting log number 124 of today's date.
