AN application to carry out works to trees at a public open space in Lavender Drive, Calne has been submitted for consultation.
The trees earmarked for work are located in the area of public open space within Lavender Drive, they have protected status and based on their location and the work proposed, the details have been supplied in order for the Local Planning Authority to determine the application.
The application states that the remedial works are required to reduce the level of risk posed to persons and properties. The works propose to crown lift (remove lower branches to raise the base of the tree's canopy) all trees that extend over the road, prune back to appropriate growth points where possible and remove dead wood where required with two Lime trees to be felled to ground level.
