Police have blocked access to Springfield Drive in Calne this afternoon following what appears to be a serious incident.

Several emergency vehicles are in attendance at an address in the Springfield Drive including  ambulances, several police cars and an Ambulance Operational Command vehicle.

Police are stationed at either end of the road and are currently re-directing traffic and pedestrians away and the area has been cordoned off at both ends of the road.

A police spokesperson has told Calne News: 'We were called at 3.15pm today to reports of a medical incident at a residential address in Springfield Drive, Calne. We are in attendance with the ambulance service at this time.'

A spokesperson for South Western Ambulance services told Calne News: '

We were called at 3.10pm about an incident at a residential address in Calne, Wiltshire. We sent an ambulance crew and a senior paramedic to attend the incident.'

 

A Forensics Services Crime Scene Investigation unit joined in attendance at 16,50 followed by a Police Scientific Investigation Unit vehicle at 18.20. This is an ongoing situation the story will be updated as further information comes to light.
