A new information board highlighting National Cycle Network Route 403 has been installed opposite Bank Row in Calne.

The board was jointly commissioned by Sustainable Calne and Calne Town Council, with the council providing some of the funding and carrying out the installation.

As well as the new board, the Town Council has installed a public bicycle repair station nearby, giving cyclists access to tools for minor repairs if they run into problems while out riding.

Route 403 connects Chippenham, Calne and Avebury, and the new board provides information about the route and places to visit along the way.

Announcing the installation, Sustainable Calne thanked Calne Town Council for its support, saying: "Huge thanks to Calne Town Council for some of the funding and for installing it."

The group added that the repair station has been provided for people who may not have the tools needed for minor repairs or who experience problems while cycling locally.
