A Calne tearoom has closed its doors with immediate effect after almost 10 years of trading, with the owners saying ongoing health issues have led them to make the difficult decision to retire.

Infusions Tearoom shared the news with customers on social media, explaining that the decision had been made due to long-term ongoing health issues which have made it increasingly difficult to continue running the business.

The owners said they had therefore made the difficult decision to retire.

In a message to customers, they said: “After nearly 10 years of trading we have made the hard decision to close the Tearooms with immediate effect.

“This is due to long term ongoing health issues which is making it difficult to continue so we are going to retire.”

They also took the opportunity to thank the many people who have supported the tearoom throughout its years in the town.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers for their support over the years,” they said, also thanking their staff, family and friends for all their help and support.

Infusions has been a familiar presence in Calne for nearly a decade, having previously been based just off the High Street before moving to its Curzon Street premises in November 2022.

The tearoom was known for its breakfasts, lunches, cakes, afternoon teas and wide selection of teas, and had built up a loyal local following over the years.

The owners ended their announcement with a simple message of thanks to everyone who had supported them throughout their journey.
