Police are investigating the sexual assault of a young woman during Party on the Pitch, held at Calne Town Football Club last month.

The 19-year-old woman was assaulted while listening to music at the event on Saturday 13th June.

Wiltshire Police said enquiries are ongoing and officers are appealing for anyone who attended Party on the Pitch and witnessed the incident, or who has information that could help the investigation, to come forward.

Calne Town Football Club has issued a statement following the appeal. In a statement released today, the football club said it was "deeply concerned" by the nature of the allegation and that its thoughts were with the individual affected.

The club said it had not been contacted by Wiltshire Police in relation to the investigation but urged anyone who attended the event and may have witnessed the incident, or who has information that could assist, to contact officers.

Calne Town FC added that it remains committed to providing "a safe, respectful and welcoming environment" for everyone who visits its facilities.

The club said it would not be commenting further while the police investigation remains ongoing.
