Calne Town Mayor Cllr Tim Havenith and his wife will be hosting a Christmas Day lunch for residents who would otherwise spend the day alone.

The festive lunch is intended for people who may not have family or friends to celebrate with and would appreciate some company on Christmas Day. Places are limited, with priority given to those who would otherwise be alone.

The event is being supported by local businesses and organisations, including Calne Catering, Calne Lions and Calne Community Transport. Their help will make the lunch possible, with transport also being arranged for guests who need it.

Anyone who would like to attend can register their interest using the online form at https://form.jotform.com/calne/tm-christmas-lunch.

Alternatively, residents can contact Calne Town Council on 01249 814000, email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or visit Bank House in person.

The deadline for applications is Tuesday 1st December. All applications will be considered after the closing date, and places will be allocated with the aim of reaching those who would otherwise spend Christmas Day on their own.

Anyone who knows a neighbour or friend who may be facing Christmas alone can pass the details on, so they have the opportunity to apply.
