CALNE Royal British Legion and Calne Town Council will be hosting the Festival of Remembrance Parade and church service this Sunday.

The parade will assemble in Phelps Parade at 9.15am and will move off from about 9.30am to begin the march toward St Mary's Church for the service 10am.

Included in the parade will be: Royal British Legion and Veterans, Royal Air Force Association, 5 Bn REME Lyneham, Army Cadet Force (Calne Detachment), 2 x Guides Detachments, Calne Scouts, Cubs, Brownies and Beavers, and Calne Town Councillors.

The following road closures will be in place from 9.20am to 11.30am.

  • Church Street will be closed from its junction with the A4 Curzon Street to its junction with The Green.
  • Mill Street will be closed from its junction with Church Street to its junction with Anchor Road.
  • Anchor Road will be closed from its junction with Mill Street to its junction with The Glebe.

Following the service at the church the wreath-laying will take place before the parade march over the traffic lights around the Town Hall into Patford Street.

All residents are welcome to watch the march past, attend the church service or view the laying of wreaths.
