One of Calne's biggest employers may have reached the end of the road this week with rumours that they have gone into liquidation.
JJ and S Transport Ltd - road haulage specialists based at Porte Marsh Industrial Estate, are rumoured to have gone into liquidation yesterday.
The company was established in 1985 providing bulk haulage services.
Although nothing has been confirmed officially, Calne News have been contacted by some of the workforce who were told of the move yesterday, 1st February 2024.
Earlier this afternoon, Porte Marsh Industrial Estate was blocked for some time with lorries and recovery vehicles - some lorry cabs were seen being taken away on a low-loader.
No comment has been forthcoming and there is no evidence online of the move, but former employees have commented on social media appearing to back up the rumours.
JJ and S Transport has been approached for comment.
