Local artist, Nellie Hearn will be making an appearance on national television this Friday on BBC2's Gardeners World.

Few of us can be unfamiliar with the works of Nellie Hearn whose works are regularly exhibited all over Wiltshire including the pop up shop at Tesco Showroom in Calne.

Neil aka artist Nellie Hearn told Calne News: "I’m an abstract artist but prior to becoming an artist I was a professional ballroom and latin dancer travelling the world for many years representing the UK in Overseas Championships.

"I retired from competitive dance in 1993 and went to work and live in Hong Kong for 10 years coaching and teaching dancers all over China. I returned back to the UK in 2003 and 6 years ago woke up one morning with an urge to buy some paint brushes. I’ve never had an art lesson and just paint what I feel not what I see. "

Neil's work is now exported all over the world and exhibited all over the country.

More recently, Neil was invited to take part in BBC Wiltshire's 'The Culture Club' show and then through his passion for the countryside and garden, he was invited to take part in Gardener's World with his partner Jonathan at their rural Wiltshire home.

Neil commented: "I never dreamt in a million years that one day my artworks would take us on to National TV , Jonny and Artist Nellie Hearn look forward to entertaining you all this Friday."

You can watch the show this Friday, 16th August at 8.30pm on BBC2.
