The grand opening of Calne’s new Ninja Park will take place on Easter Sunday, with a full day of activities, entertainment and a community foodbank collection.

The event begins at 9am with the weekly junior parkrun, where runners and visitors are being encouraged to donate items for the local foodbank in partnership with St Edmund’s School.

The collection will continue throughout the morning, giving residents the opportunity to support local families while taking part in the celebrations.

The official opening ceremony will take place at 10am, with Mayor Cllr Thorn cutting the ribbon.

Visitors will then be invited to take on the Ninja challenge, as the Ninja Team set a benchmark time for the new course, with people encouraged to try and beat it throughout the day.

There will also be a range of other activities including a bouncy castle, inflatable football darts, inflatable axe throwing and a climbing wall.

MF Dance will be hosting a series of sessions during the morning, beginning with a meet-and-greet and introduction from 10am to 11:30am, followed by a performance at 11:30am and a participation session at midday.

Live music will be provided throughout the event by Eartunes Radio.

Visitors are encouraged to bring their own picnics and Scouting for Coffee and Ice Queen will also be on site serving drinks, snacks and ice cream.

Parking at the Recreation Ground is limited, and visitors are advised to walk or cycle where possible. Church Street car park offers two hours of free parking and is a short walk away.

In the event of poor weather, Calne Town Council updates will be shared with residents via social media.

Organisers say they hope the event will bring the community together while also supporting those in need.
