Residents are being invited to get advice on spotting rogue traders and preventing fraud at an event taking place in Calne tomorrow.

Representatives from neighbourhood policing teams covering the Calne, Chippenham and Corsham areas will be joined by specialists from Wiltshire Police, Wiltshire Council Trading Standards, The Bobby Van Trust and the force’s Fraud Protection Team.

The events have been organised following recent incidents involving rogue traders in the area, with officers offering practical advice and support to help residents protect themselves.

In Calne, officers and partners will be at Phelps Parade from 2pm to 3pm, where people can stop by to ask questions, pick up information and learn how to recognise common scams.

Similar sessions will also take place earlier in the day in Corsham and Chippenham.

Police say the aim is to raise awareness and help residents feel confident about reporting suspicious activity and avoiding fraud.

Anyone interested is welcome to attend and speak to the teams.
