People in Calne could get the chance to see the Red Arrows this weekend as the world-famous display team passes close to the town on two separate flights.
The RAF aerobatic team is scheduled to fly near Calne on both Friday and Saturday as it travels between displays in the South West and Midlands.
On Friday, the Red Arrows are expected to pass through Wiltshire while travelling from RAF Waddington to Exeter Airport.
The team is scheduled to pass near Lyneham at around 2.15pm before flying over Chittoe, near Melksham, at approximately 2.16pm and continuing towards Bradford on Avon shortly afterwards.
While the route does not take the aircraft directly over Calne, residents in the Derry Hill area and higher spots around the town may still catch a glimpse if conditions are clear. Route timings and flight paths can change at short notice.
Saturday could provide the better opportunity for Calne residents.
The Red Arrows are scheduled to leave Exeter Airport at 2.41pm before heading north towards the Midlands Air Festival.
According to published route information, the team is expected to pass south east of Quemerford, near Calne, at around 2.45pm, making this the closest planned pass to the town across the weekend.
The aircraft are then expected to continue north towards East Midlands Airport, arriving shortly after 3pm.
As always with military flying, timings and routes remain subject to operational changes and weather conditions.
