MOTORISTS were delayed yesterday when an insecure load of straw was shed on the Calne bypass.
The incident happened at about 2.45pm yesterday (28th Aug) at the Tesco roundabout on the A3102 Calne bypass. The tractor was carrying several bales of straw which went over as he approached the roundabout.
Police attended the scene to oversee the clean up and manage traffic.
Wiltshire Special Ops tweeted: RPU prosecuting the driver and employer for this insecure load in Calne. The clean up took longer than the debate as to whether it was hay or straw.
