The Springfields Academy in Calne has been named one of just eight Beacon schools in the country by the National Autistic Society.
The specialist school, which is part of Reach South Academy Trust, has received the recognition for its work supporting autistic pupils and sharing its expertise with other schools and organisations.
The Beacon Award is given to schools and services that have achieved Advanced status in the National Autistic Society's Autism Specialist Award and have demonstrated exceptional work in sharing knowledge and good practice beyond their own setting.
The Springfields Academy has achieved Advanced status in the Autism Specialist Award for the second time.
The school currently supports 275 autistic learners aged four to 19, all of whom have an Education, Health and Care Plan.
Its previous Autism Specialist Award recognised the school's personalised approach to supporting autistic pupils, including the use of preferred communication methods.
The school was also recognised for its work supporting independence, self-regulation and emotional resilience, as well as vocational preparation, wellbeing and family support.
The Beacon Award comes after an important year for the school, which was rated 'Exceptional' in three areas during an Ofsted inspection earlier this year, including Inclusion, Leadership and Governance, and Personal Development and Wellbeing.
Inspectors also highlighted the school's influence beyond its own community, noting that its expertise benefits schools and organisations both nationally and internationally.

"This is a real reflection of the expertise and commitment of our staff, and of the work we do every day to understand and respond to the individual needs of autistic young people."
She added that the recognition also reflected the school's commitment to sharing what it has learned with others.
Lisa Myers, Head of National Autistic Society: Learn, said the Beacon Award reflected excellence beyond the organisation's specialist award criteria and demonstrated an impact on professionals, the wider community and the generation of new knowledge.
She said the team should be "exceptionally proud" of their achievement and commitment to improving support for autistic people.
