Students across Calne and the surrounding area are celebrating their results today, with Kingsbury Green Academy reporting another year of improvement and students at Wiltshire College & University Centre celebrating strong vocational and T Level results.
Students at Kingsbury Green Academy are celebrating another year of improved post-16 results, with average points and value-added scores rising across both academic and vocational qualifications.
Among the standout results is Rory Anderson, who achieved three A grades and an A* across his A Levels and has secured a place at the University of Cambridge to study Mathematics and Amelia Fisher who achieved three A* grades at A Level and will continue her studies at the University of Sheffield, where she will study Geography.
The academy also reported particularly strong results among students taking General Applied qualifications, with the average grade increasing to a Distinction.
Kingsbury Green Academy Headteacher Nicola Bull said: “We are incredibly proud of all our students and everything they have achieved. These results reflect not only their hard work and determination, but also the support of our dedicated staff and families.”
She said it was particularly pleasing to see further improvement across both academic and vocational outcomes.
Head of Sixth Form Liam Collins added: “Whether students are progressing to university, apprenticeships or employment, they leave us well prepared for the next stage of their journey. We wish them every success for the future. Today is a proud day for us all.”
The academy said students have secured places at universities including Cambridge, Cardiff and Bristol, while others will be moving into apprenticeships and employment in areas including finance, genealogy and the RAF.
Wiltshire College & University Centre is also reporting strong results across its campuses, with a 96 per cent pass rate in this year's vocational and technical Level 3 qualifications.
A number of courses achieved a 100 per cent pass rate, including Animal Management, Equine, Travel and Tourism, Motorsport and Art and Design.
The college recorded a 94 per cent pass rate for T Levels, which combine classroom and practical learning with a 315-hour industry placement. Digital, Business, Land-Based Engineering and Midwifery all recorded 100 per cent pass rates.
At the Chippenham campus, students achieved a 98.2 per cent pass rate.
Jo Grenfell, Deputy Principal Curriculum & Quality, said the results were a reflection of the hard work of students and staff. “These excellent results are a testament to the hard work of our students and the expertise and commitment of our teaching and support teams.”
She said the results showed the quality of education and training offered by the college, with students progressing to university, apprenticeships and employment.
Wiltshire Council is also celebrating students across the county receiving their A Level, T Level and other Level 3 qualification results today.
Cllr Jon Hubbard, Cabinet Member for Children's Services, SEND, Education and Skills, congratulated students and said there were a range of routes available after results day, including university, apprenticeships, training and employment.
He also encouraged students who did not achieve the results they had hoped for to speak to their school or college and consider the options available to them.
