The Southwell Hall at St Margaret's Prep was abuzz with excitement on Monday evening as the Major Minors Children's Choir took to the stage for their highly anticipated Spring Concert.

The choir, comprising talented young singers from nine primary schools and St Margaret's Prep, delivered a stunning performance under the expert guidance of Musical Director, Mrs Bethan Dudley Fryar.

The concert program featured a diverse range of pieces, including international folk songs, modern choral works, and popular hits. Solo performances and introductions added a personal touch to the evening. Highlights included a beautiful rendition of "Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head" with a solo by Major Minors Alumna Charlotte R, and a lively performance of the Malay folk song "Burung Kakak Tua (The Cockatoo)" by a trio of singers.

After the concert, certificates and Easter eggs were presented to the choir members, and a heartfelt thank you was extended to the choir's accompanist, Mrs Rachel Allard, and administrator, Mrs Michelle Weston.

Mrs Dudley Fryar reflected on the success of the Spring Term: 'I am totally blown away by the success of Major Minors and the coming together of schools to create a happy musical environment.

"The Spring Concert was the best performance yet with such commitment from the young voices and it was just perfect to see them having fun and enjoying every song.

"I am so proud of every single child and grateful to the families for supporting the choir."

A special thank you was given to Mrs Rachel Allard, the choir's accompanist, and Mrs Michelle Weston, the choir administrator. Mrs Fryar noted, 'We couldn’t do it without them.'

The Major Minors Children's Choir is open to girls and boys in Years 3 to 6 at local primary schools. Rehearsals resume on Monday, 28th April. For more information, email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
