Students at St Mary’s Calne are celebrating their A Level results, with 86% securing an offer from their first-choice UK university.
The Class of 2026 achieved a 100% pass rate, with more than 65% of grades at A*-A and 39% of students achieving all A*-A grades.
Overall, 90% of grades were at A*-B, with 29% awarded an A*.
All students received an offer from either their first or second-choice UK university.
Among those celebrating are Head Girl Ada R, who will study history at Durham University, while Deputy Head Girls Allison L and Olivia M are heading to UCL to study psychology and Newcastle University to study politics and international relations.
Medicine was also a popular choice, with Florence OS gaining a place at UCL and Millie O securing a place at the University of Liverpool.
The results also include strong performances in fine art, with Isla K heading to the University of Edinburgh to continue her studies.
This year’s destinations include Oxford, St Andrews, Exeter, Edinburgh, LSE, Imperial and King's College London, as well as ESCP in France and universities in the United States.
The Class of 2026 will be studying a wide range of subjects, including medicine, biochemistry, molecular bioengineering, zoology, fine art, history, economics, politics and international relations and classics.
Head of St Mary’s Calne, Anne Wakefield, said the results reflected the students' hard work and commitment during their time at the school.
“We are so proud of our 2026 Upper Sixth students who have achieved exceptional results,” she said.
“They worked incredibly hard and their results are testament to the dedication, passion for learning and tenacity that have been hallmark qualities of this cohort of students.”
Head of Sixth Form Lucy Weeden said the school was also proud of the range of different routes students were taking after leaving Calne.
“We are very proud of our students’ academic successes, but also the wide range of pathways they are taking for life after Calne, from STEM degrees to the creative arts,” she said.
“Our pupils leave Sixth Form as confident, well-rounded young people ready to embrace new opportunities and make their mark on the world.”
The results reflect the range of interests and ambitions within the Class of 2026, with students going on to study subjects across the sciences, humanities and creative arts.
