Bowood Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort will be holding a clothing swap event in September, giving people the chance to exchange unwanted clothes, shoes and accessories rather than throwing them away.
The September Social takes place on Sunday 20th September and is being held with Wiltshire-based Swap Society and wellbeing brand TEMPLESPA.
The event is part of Bowood Estate's activities for Sustainable September, which encourages people to think about waste, consumption and the environmental impact of everyday choices.
People attending can bring up to 20 pre-loved items. Each item can be exchanged for swap credits, which can then be used to choose something else at the event.
Swap Society has held clothing swaps at venues across Wiltshire and says more than 4,800 garments have been kept in use through its events rather than going to waste.
Gracie May White, co-founder of Swap Society, said: “Keeping fashion circular is at the heart of what we promote. Whether an item began as fast fashion, vintage clothing or a collectible piece, its label matters less than ensuring it continues to be worn and enjoyed.
“We want to keep good-quality textiles in circulation and away from waste streams, and we are delighted to collaborate with Bowood as part of its Sustainable September activity.”
The event will also include a welcome drink and canapés, with background music. Guests can look at the TEMPLESPA skincare range, receive product advice and see its Christmas retail range.

The clothing swap is part of wider sustainability work at Bowood Estate. The estate says it now sends zero waste to landfill and has reduced its non-recycled waste by nearly 50 per cent since 2023.

The event takes place from 4.30pm to 7pm on Sunday 20th September 2026 in the Kerry Suite at Bowood Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort.
Tickets cost £20 and include a welcome drink, canapés, the TEMPLESPA experience and entry to the clothing swap.
People attending can bring up to 20 pre-loved items, including clothing, shoes and accessories.
