Calne will have a strong connection to this year's BBC Proms, with both the current and former patrons of the Calne Music & Arts Festival featured in the same concert.
The Prom on Wednesday 29th July will include music by Dame Judith Weir, who served as patron of the festival for 10 years, alongside a world premiere by current patron Brett Dean. The concert will also be televised.
John Boaler, Chair of the Calne Music & Arts Festival, said he was "delighted and proud" to see both composers featured together.
"It is a happy coincidence that they have been paired together," he said.
"The work by Brett will be the world premiere of his setting of poems from Carol Ann Duffy's The World's Wife.
"We have been so fortunate in having Judith and Brett involved in the Calne Music & Arts Festival."
Mr Boaler also highlighted that Brett Dean will return to Calne later this year, performing Schubert's Quintet in C Major on 7th October as part of the 2026 Calne Music & Arts Festival.
