A fast-growing Wiltshire fashion swap community is bringing its latest event to Calne next month, inviting people to refresh their wardrobes, meet new people and embrace a more sustainable way of shopping.
Swap Society will host its first ever Calne clothing swap on Sunday 7th June, with founders Meagan Powell and Gracie May White hoping to build a welcoming community around preloved fashion in the town.

The pair launched Swap Society in 2025 and have since built a loyal following across Wiltshire through events that combine fashion, sustainability and social connection.
Rather than buying new clothes, attendees bring quality preloved items to exchange for tokens, which can then be used to choose “new-to-you” pieces during the event.
Meagan and Gracie say the swaps are designed to feel fun, social and inclusive, while also encouraging people to think differently about fast fashion and clothing waste.

They told us: “Our events are about far more than swapping clothes. They create spaces where people can connect, socialise and shop more consciously.
“We’ve seen complete strangers leave as friends, people discovering confidence in their style again and communities forming around a shared love of sustainability and creativity.”
The Calne event will feature timed entry sessions throughout the day to give people plenty of space to browse and swap at a relaxed pace.
Guests are encouraged to bring up to 20 good quality clothing items and are also being invited to wear pink on the day, with themed outfits earning an extra token.
Since launching, Swap Society has built a growing following across Wiltshire, with more people getting involved in clothing swaps and choosing preloved fashion over fast fashion.
They added: “We really believe there is room for something like this in Calne. It’s a chance for people to update their wardrobe in an affordable and sustainable way while being part of something genuinely positive and community driven.”
The event takes place on Sunday 7th June and tickets must be booked in advance here.
