Looking for something to do over the next few days? From live music and family fun to art exhibitions and charity events, there's plenty happening in and around Calne this weekend and into next week. Here's our pick of some of the highlights.

Live Music At The Dog House

If you're looking for somewhere to spend Friday evening, The Dog House in Calne is hosting live music from Marlboro Lites. From 7.30pm, Graham and James will be performing stripped-back acoustic versions of well-known classics, making for a relaxed evening of live entertainment. 

Live Music At The Ruze

The Ruze Studio & Venue in Chippenham has a packed weekend of live music. On Friday evening, Grassroot Band Night features performances from Kima Moon, The Other Woman and Flume, with doors opening at 6.30pm. On Saturday, Maracutaya brings a mix of Brazilian bossa, soulful blues and 1970s funk to the venue, with the bar also opening from 6.30pm. Advance tickets are available for both events.

House Music Charity Event At The Pink Café

The Pink Café in Calne will be turning up the volume for a good cause on Saturday with a charity house music event in aid of Cancer Research UK. Starting at 11.30am, visitors can enjoy house music, coffee, sweet treats and a relaxed atmosphere while raising money for cancer research. Donations of any amount can be made via QR codes available on the day.

Wiltshire Game & Country Fair

Bowood Estate will once again host the Wiltshire Game & Country Fair this weekend, with two days of family entertainment on Saturday and Sunday. Visitors can enjoy arena displays, falconry, gun dog demonstrations, fishing and shooting activities, a craft village, chainsaw carving, live music, food stalls and a packed World of Dogs area. The event runs from 10am to 6pm each day, with dogs welcome on leads.

Art In Calne Summer Exhibition

If you're looking for something a little more relaxing this weekend, the Art In Calne Summer Exhibition is running at Calne Heritage Centre until 29th August. Open Wednesday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm, the exhibition features original artwork by local artists, with many pieces available to buy. It's a great opportunity to support local talent while enjoying a wide variety of creative work.

Over 50s Daytime Disco

Looking ahead to next week, Calne Town Hall will host an Over 50s Daytime Disco on Wednesday, 12th August, from 2pm to 4pm. Fancy dress is welcome, with music, a bar and plenty of dancing promised. Tickets are £4 and are available in advance.

Tropical Discoveries At Calne Town Hall

Children can get up close to reptiles, spiders and large insects when Tropical Discoveries visits Calne Town Hall on Friday, 14th August. The interactive summer holiday sessions run from 10am to midday and 1pm to 3pm, with tickets priced at £5 plus booking fee. Advance booking is required.
