Summer Fair at Fynamore School
Families can enjoy a day of traditional summer fair fun at Fynamore School on Saturday.
Taking place from 10am until 2pm, the free-entry event will feature children's games, gift stalls, a raffle, BBQ, cake stall, tuck shop and refreshments. Visitors can also enjoy treats from an ice cream van and candy floss stand, with plenty of activities and entertainment on offer throughout the day for all ages.
Kington Langley Scarecrow Festival returns
A popular village tradition returns this weekend as Kington Langley hosts its annual Scarecrow Festival, with this year's theme taking visitors beneath the waves.
Taking place on Saturday and Sunday, the festival will see streets, gardens and doorsteps transformed into a colourful trail of sea-themed scarecrows and displays. Visitors can expect everything from mermaids and sailors to sea creatures, mythical monsters and creative nautical-themed creations as they explore the village. The family-friendly event has become a popular attraction in the local calendar and offers a fun day out for all ages.
Bromham Carnival returns for 2026
Bromham Carnival returns on Saturday, bringing an afternoon of entertainment, fundraising and family fun to the village.
Taking place from 2pm, the annual event will feature a colourful procession of floats, walking groups, bands and majorettes before celebrations continue on the field with stalls, food, fairground rides, a raffle and plenty of attractions for visitors of all ages. The carnival raises money for local charities and village organisations, while also contributing towards the new Bromham Community Hub.
An Afternoon of Guitar Music with Andrew Hurst
Music lovers can enjoy a relaxed afternoon of live performance at Calne Methodist Church on Saturday as guitarist Andrew Hurst takes to the stage.
The concert begins at 3pm and will feature an afternoon of guitar music in the welcoming surroundings of the church. Entry is by donation, with refreshments available, offering visitors the chance to enjoy live music while supporting a local community event.
Live music at The Ruze
Music fans are spoilt for choice at The Ruze in Chippenham this weekend, with two very different live performances taking to the stage.
On Friday evening, Vivid Soul bring their energetic blend of funk, soul and Motown classics to the venue. The 10-piece band features a full rhythm section, brass and powerful vocals, promising a night of dancefloor favourites and timeless hits.
Meanwhile, on Sunday evening, acclaimed pianist and composer Bura Tomasz will perform a show that promises to move beyond traditional piano playing. Known for creating immersive and expressive performances, the musician blends contemporary influences with classical technique in a unique live experience. Doors open at 6.30pm for both events.
Paws & Pints returns to The Dog House Taproom
Dog owners and their four-legged friends are invited to join the latest Paws & Pints meet-up at The Dog House Taproom in Calne on Sunday.
The monthly social gathering begins at 12.30pm and includes a relaxed group dog walk before returning to the taproom for a drink and a chat. Dogs of all breeds, ages and sizes are welcome, with dog-friendly ice cream and biscuits available for canine visitors. The event offers an opportunity for dog lovers to meet new people, enjoy a stroll and round off the afternoon with a well-earned pint.
