Whether you're looking for live music, a family day out or something a little different, there's plenty happening in and around Calne this weekend. From charity gigs and classic cars to a scarecrow trail, craft market and 80s-themed dance night, here's our pick of what's on.
Rock The Post Returns
Rock The Post takes place at The Dumb Post Inn in Bremhill on Saturday, with an evening of live music and a barbecue in aid of Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance. Music starts from 5pm, with Tin Shack Band and Dire Straits tribute act Sultans of Swingers taking to the stage to help raise money for the charity.
Live Music for Air Ambulance
The Dog & Partridge will also be raising money for Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance on Saturday with a day of live music, food and fundraising. Entertainment gets underway from 3pm and continues into the evening, with all proceeds supporting the charity.
Steam and Vintage Rally
Steam engines, vintage tractors, classic vehicles and motorcycles will all be on display at the Rona Steam and Vintage Rally this weekend. Taking place at Little Smithcott Farm, Dauntsey, on Saturday and Sunday, the family-friendly event also features trade stalls, a fairground, artisan food court and live entertainment, with a suggested donation of £5 on entry. Saturday evening will also see a special performance celebrating 40 years of Dr Busker.
80s Night at Lansdowne Hall
Get In Line is hosting an 80s-themed social at Lansdowne Hall on Saturday evening. Running from 7.30pm until 10.30pm, the event promises a night of classic 80s music, dancing and optional fancy dress, with tickets priced at £10.
Classic Cars at Atwell-Wilson
The Atwell-Wilson Motor Museum hosts its 23rd Annual Road Run and Show - the Road Run takes place on Saturday and the Show on Sunday, bringing together a wide range of classic, vintage and historic vehicles. Alongside the display of vehicles, visitors can explore the museum collection and enjoy food and entertainment throughout the day.
Lacock Scarecrow Trail
Lacock's popular Scarecrow Trail returns this weekend, with dozens of scarecrows based on the theme of children's books appearing throughout the village. Trail sheets will be available from 8.30am on Saturday and Sunday from the National Trust car park and the school playground, with family attractions including a barbecue, cakes, ice cream, fairground rides, a raffle and tombola helping to raise funds for Lacock Village School.
Love Calne Craft and Gift Market
The monthly Love Calne Craft and Gift Market returns to the town centre on Saturday, bringing together a variety of local makers, artists and independent traders. Running from 8.30am until 2.30pm, it's a chance to browse handmade gifts, crafts and local produce while supporting small businesses.
Messy Church
Families are invited to Messy Church at Calne Free Church on Sunday afternoon for an informal session featuring crafts, activities, songs, stories and food. The free event starts at 3pm and is open to all ages, with no need to book.
Learn Archery
Anyone looking to try a new hobby can sign up for Calne Archers' latest beginners' course, which gets underway on Sunday. The four-week course runs at Beversbrook Sports Facility and is open to anyone aged 10 and over, with all equipment provided. Places are limited and booking is essential.
