The team behind The Play That Goes Wrong is bringing a brand new musical comedy to Swindon next month.

Mischief Theatre’s latest production, Thespians, will be at the Wyvern Theatre from Tuesday 2nd June to Saturday 6th June.

The show, written by Jonathan Sayer and Ed Zanders, takes audiences back to ancient Greece, where a group of performers find themselves competing in a high-stakes contest - with disastrous consequences if they lose.

In true Mischief style, things don’t quite go to plan, leading to the accidental invention of acting and what becomes the world’s first play.

The production is the company’s first original musical and follows a string of successful stage shows including Peter Pan Goes Wrong and The Comedy About a Bank Robbery.

The cast includes performers from West End productions such as Les Misérables, Operation Mincemeat and Oliver!.

The show is part of a UK tour, with Swindon among a number of stops including Bath, Guildford and Manchester.

Tickets are available through the Wyvern Theatre website.
