THE Duke at Hilmarton re-opened under new management on Saturday 20th April and pub-goers and diners have been raving about it!

New owners Matteo and Brandon, plus their rather handsome Boxer dog, Cairo -  have been busy for weeks giving the the 19th century pub, restaurant and hotel a fresh new look, and following a soft opening for invited guests on Friday, they opened to all on Saturday .

The new menu looks delicious with plenty of choice for all, and includes the return of the Sunday Roast,  which many of us will be relieved to hear.

The pub garden has been revamped and provides the perfect place to catch up over a pint during the warmer weather we are all hoping is just around the corner.

Following the opening, visitors were quick to comment on social media with one visitor saying: "Just enjoyed our first Sunday lunch since it’s refurb. The roast beef was delicious."

Another added: "Wonderful lunch today. Meal was amazing and service fantastic very warm and welcoming."

For those of us living in Calne, maybe the most convenient thing about the pub is that it is opposite the bus stop which has a regular service to and from town so you can have a drink without worrying about how to get home.

The pub is open Wednesday to Thursday 12pm to 10pm, Friday and Saturday 12pm to 11pm and Sunday 12pm to 6pm.

The kitchen is open Wednesday to Saturday from 12pm to 2.45pm and Sunday lunches are served from 12pm to 5pm. To find out more and view the menu and booking arrangements visit their website: https://www.dukehotelhilmarton.co.uk/
