A road traffic collision on the A342 at Old Derry Hill caused traffic chaos this morning with motorists saying queues had backed up in Calne and Heddington. (27/1)

Emergency services responded to reports of a two-vehicle rtc at the junction for Church Road into the Derry Hill village. 

Police closed the road in all directions on the A4 London Road, on the A342 at Sandy Lane and on Studley Lane into Derry Hill.

Great Western Air Ambulance also landed at the scene.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police told us: "We responded to reports of a road traffic collision involving two vehicles on the A342, Derry Hill, near to the Bowood Hotel just after 7am this morning (27/01).

"One person was taken to hospital to be treated for injuries not thought to be life threatening or life changing.

"No arrests were made. The road was closed for a few hours but has now reopened."
