The man behind Calne's Farmhouse Café, Calne Catering and Mrs B's is expanding his food and drink business with a new venture at Concours House in Bradford-on-Avon.
Robert Merrick and his team will begin operating Bobbies Diner, Grease Monkeys Bar and The Hatch at the Holt Road venue from 9th October. The Pineapple Bar will also open when the weather allows.
Concours House is a car-focused venue at Kingston Farm Court on Holt Road, combining secure storage for collectors' cars with car meets, events and hospitality. Visitors can see a changing collection of cars while enjoying food and drinks at the venue.
Robert has previously been involved with events at Concours House, providing food for events held there. This time, however, he and his team have leased the venues and will be running the food and drink operation themselves.
Robert said he was delighted to be expanding into the venue. “I am overjoyed to say that we are expanding. It’s a wonderful venue which offers so much.”
The new operation will bring Robert's food and hospitality business into a venue which already attracts car enthusiasts and hosts a range of events.
He said there would be more to follow over the coming week as the new venture gets underway, and is hoping people will visit.
“Not only will you get great coffee and food but you will also have a wonderful view of some amazing cars.”
Robert has been running businesses locally for more than 20 years, with the Farmhouse Café in Calne among his best-known ventures. He has also taken on Mrs B's as part of his expanding food and hospitality business.
Last year, Calne News reported on Robert reaching the 20-year milestone in business.
His new venture at Concours House takes that experience into a different setting, combining his food and drink offering with a venue built around its collection of cars and events.
Bobbies Diner, Grease Monkeys Bar and The Hatch will begin operating under Robert and his team from Friday 9th October, with the Pineapple Bar opening when weather conditions allow.
Concours House is at Kingston Farm Court, Holt Road, Bradford-on-Avon.
