A Calne marketing agency is offering free professional design support to charities, schools, PTAs and community groups across Wiltshire.
Mitchell Digital Media has launched a summer initiative that will see one local not-for-profit organisation receive a professionally designed poster or promotional graphic each week between June and July.
The project has been launched by Managing Director Andy Mitchell, who says he wants to help organisations that often lack the time, budget or expertise to produce effective promotional material.
He said the idea was partly prompted by the growing use of artificial intelligence to create posters and graphics for community events.
"That phrase might sound harsh, but I think most people know exactly what I mean," he said.
"Social media is increasingly full of posters and graphics that have been generated by artificial intelligence. They're often bright, colourful and eye-catching, but they all look remarkably similar.
"I completely understand why organisations are using them. If you're running a charity, a PTA or a local sports club, you probably don't have a designer on hand and AI tools can create something in seconds.
"The problem is that they're not really doing anyone any favours. They often prioritise decoration over communication. Everything is shouting for attention at the same time and the important information gets lost."
Andy said community organisations should not miss out on professional support simply because they do not have large marketing budgets.
"Some of the most important work happening in our communities is being carried out by volunteers, charities and community groups," he said.
"They deserve access to professional communication support just as much as large organisations do."
Successful applicants will receive a bespoke poster or promotional graphic supplied in formats suitable for both online and printed use.
The initiative is open to charities, schools, PTAs, sports clubs, community groups and Community Interest Companies. One organisation will be selected each week, with applications closing on Thursdays and completed designs delivered by the following Friday.
The first application deadline is Thursday 18th June, with the final round closing on Thursday 16th July.
