A nail technician who built her career in Ukraine is continuing her passion for nail art after starting a new chapter right here in Calne.

Alona, who works from the Wellbeing Clinic on Church Street, has more than 13 years' experience in the nail industry, having originally built her career in Kharkiv, Ukraine.
Her journey into nail art began more than a decade ago, and over the years she continued to develop her skills through professional courses and competitions, including taking part in nail championships.
For Alona, attention to detail, precision and quality have always been an important part of her work.
But when war came to Ukraine, her life and career changed dramatically. Alona was forced to leave her home in Kharkiv and begin a new chapter in the UK.
Despite leaving behind the career she had worked hard to build, her passion for nail art came with her.
“Nails are not just my job - they are my passion, my comfort, and a part of who I am,” Alona said.
Now based in Calne, Alona is continuing to do what she loves, bringing her experience and skills to clients at the Wellbeing Clinic.
Alona offers BIAB manicures, gel nails, manicures and luxury pedicures, with a particular focus on healthy natural nails and careful attention to detail.
She also places a strong emphasis on hygiene and safety. Treatments are carried out using professional techniques and premium-quality products, alongside a three-step sterilisation process.
For Alona, the move to the UK has been about starting again while continuing the career she loves. “Today, I continue doing what I love, putting my experience, care, and heart into every set I create.”
