A Chippenham man has admitted making indecent images of children after appearing in court.

Adam Das, formerly known as Rodney Fernandes, 47, pleaded guilty to three offences at Swindon Magistrates Court on Tuesday 24th March.

The court heard that an investigation began in December 2024 after a report that an indecent image of a child had been uploaded online.

Officers later went to Das’s home, where he was arrested. Several electronic devices were seized for examination.

A subsequent investigation uncovered a large number of indecent images, including 67 Category A images, 290 Category B images and 1,821 Category C images.

Detective Constable Justine Parsons, from the Child Internet Exploitation Team, said the offences were “extremely serious” and stressed that protecting children remains a priority.

Das is due to return to Swindon Magistrates Court on Tuesday 29th April for sentencing.
