Chippenham police are urgently appealing for CCTV and dash cam footage following a police pursuit which ended in multiple crashes this afternoon.
According to Wiltshire Police, officers attempted to stop a vehicle at around 12.45pm today, Friday 8th May, in the car park near KFC on Bath Road over concerns the driver was under the influence of an illegal substance.
The vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit was authorised along Bath Road, where police say the car was driven dangerously before colliding with several vehicles on Hungerdown Lane near Lidl.
Police said the vehicle then continued towards the A350 before being involved in a further collision on Cepen Way.
The driver reportedly fled the scene on foot and enquiries are ongoing.
Wiltshire Police are now asking anyone who witnessed the pursuit or collisions, or who may have CCTV or dash cam footage, to contact them.
