A morning drug raid in Chippenham has led to the arrest of three men today. (31/5)
Officers from the Chippenham and Trowbridge Neighbourhood Teams and Local Police Tasking Team acted on a warrant at a house in Portway where they found a quantity of suspected class A and B drugs and multiple weapons.
Three men – one aged 18 and two aged 19, were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A and B drugs.
They are currently in custody awaiting questioning.
Sgt Jamie Ball said: “This was a successful warrant for us this morning because not only have we made three arrests, but we’ve located and seized a quantity of suspected class A and B drugs, preventing it from reaching vulnerable drug users in our community which is positive news.
“Warrants of this nature rely heavily on the community submitting intelligence – if you suspect drug activity in your neighbourhood, it is so important that you let us or CrimeStoppers know. It helps us build an intelligence picture of the threat and harm posed to the community and enables us to take appropriate action.
“We will not tolerate drugs in our community here in Chippenham or the violence that is often associated with drug supply and we will continue to target those suspected of being involved.”
To report drug activity, call 101, or 999 if a crime is in progress.
