POLICE have released images of a man they'd like to identify in relation to some high value thefts from shops in Avebury recently.

Owners of the Henge Shop in High Street, Avebury have said the theft of three crystals and two tuning forks worth approximately £800 was 'hurtful and disappointing'.

In a social media post they said: 'We have to share some very upsetting news from our weekend.
Three of our beautiful high value crystals and some tuning forks were stolen on Saturday .
We feel it's very important to share this information to our local and wider communities so that we can remain vigilant in the hope that this won't happen to anyone else.'

The theft is thought to have taken place at about 1.15pm on Saturday 13th April and was captured on cctv .

A neighbouring shop was also targeted on the same day by the same person - Elements of Avebury, where another high value, large smokey quartz crystal was taken. Shop owner, Donna Bryant appealed to the thief to return the crystal via social media posting:

'As a small independent business, we truly can’t afford for people to come in and steal our products. So, I am hoping this message reaches the man in the black gillet who came to my shop and stole a large smoky quartz out of the fireplace. Please return it. If you put the crystal by the back door overnight you will never hear from me again. I really appreciate that times are hard, they’re hard for us all… please do the right thing.'

The suspect is described as male, around 40 years old, around 6ft tall and was wearing a black waistcoat over a white long-sleeved top with blue jeans.

If you recognise the person in these images, please contact police on 101 quoting reference 54240042339.
