Lackham’s much-loved Lambing Weekends won’t be taking place in 2026, as organisers have announced the event is taking a planned year off.

The popular family event, held at Wiltshire College & University Centre’s Lackham campus, has run for several years and has become a highlight of the local calendar. However, as a working farm, the site will be taking a “fallow year” to give the land, animals and estate a chance to rest and recover.

Organisers say this kind of pause isn’t unusual for large outdoor events, and is part of looking after the long-term health of the farm.

While the news may come as a disappointment to visitors who look forward to meeting the newborn lambs each spring, the break is only temporary.

Plans are already in place for Lambing Weekends to return in 2027, with more details expected to be shared closer to the time.
