A planning application has been submitted for a development of up to 600 homes at Forest Farm in Pewsham, between Calne and Chippenham.
The outline application relates to land off the A4 London Road and includes proposals for a local centre, public open space, children's play areas, landscaping and associated infrastructure.

A new vehicular access from the A4 is proposed, along with changes to the A4 London Road/Pewsham Way roundabout. The plans also include improvements to the footway along the A4 and a new pedestrian and cycle connection towards Pewsham District Centre.
The development would be built in phases, with the application documents setting out proposals for up to 600 homes across the site. An illustrative masterplan has also been submitted showing how the development could be laid out.
The application includes supporting information covering matters including traffic and transport, flooding and drainage, ecology, landscape, trees, heritage, noise and air quality.
As this is an outline application, access from the A4 is the only matter being considered in detail at this stage. The detailed layout, appearance, landscaping and scale of the development would be considered at a later stage.
The application was validated by Wiltshire Council on 3rd August 2026 under reference PL/2026/04823.
The consultation is currently open, with local residents and other interested parties able to view the plans and submit comments. The consultation closes on 28th September 2026.
The full application and supporting documents can be viewed on Wiltshire Council's planning register here.
