Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision in Chippenham in which a cyclist suffered serious injuries.

The incident happened at around 3.30pm on Friday 8th May on Hungerdown Lane, near the junction with Allington Way by Lidl.

A man in his 30s was cycling down Hungerdown Lane towards Lidl when a white van stopped before the junction. At the same time, another vehicle, believed to be a small grey hatchback, turned right into Allington Way and collided with the cyclist.

Wiltshire Police said the driver of the grey vehicle, believed to be a young woman, did not stop to report the incident or provide her details.

The cyclist sustained grievous bodily harm level injuries as a result of the collision.

Officers believe there was heavy traffic in the area at the time and are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or may have dashcam footage.
