Police are appealing for witnesses following two separate reports of attempted armed robberies at convenience stores in Chippenham.

At approximately 4.10pm on Thursday 8th August, police received a report that a male had entered the MS2 store in Greenway Lane and pulled out a small knife from his pocket.

He demanded the shop worker hand over the contents of the till. However, he was disturbed by a witness and left the store empty handed.

Approximately 20 minutes later, a second report was received regarding a similar incident at the One Stop shop in Sheldon Road with a male with a knife demanding money. Again, he left empty handed.

Detectives investigating the robberies have released a CCTV image and would like to speak to the male pictured in connection with these incidents.
