A full closure order has been granted for a house in Chippenham today at Swindon Magistrates Court, following concerns regarding anti-social behaviour at the address.
The closure order means that nobody other than the resident, police or those authorised by Wiltshire Council, can enter the home in River Parade for three months. Anyone caught breaching the order will be committing a criminal offence and will be prosecuted.
Sgt Jamie Ball said: “We have been receiving regular reports from neighbours of anti social behaviour including noise complaints and disorderly behaviour coming from this address which is of great concern to us, and the residents living nearby.”
“Based on this information, we applied for a closure order to prevent the anti-social behaviour associated with the address which has been causing distress for residents living in the local area.
“We will continue to carry out patrols in the area and work in partnership with local authorities to ensure the order is adhered to.”
The closure order is in place until March 2025. The penalty for beaching it is up to 51 weeks in prison, a fine, or both.
