A joint operation by Wiltshire Police has resulted in the arrest of three males suspected of hare coursing near Avebury.

Officers responded to reports of suspicious activity in the area and found the suspects who then failed to stop for police, leading to a pursuit.

The occupants of the vehicle were eventually detained, and the vehicle has been seized.

Wiltshire Police are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity that may be related to hare coursing.

Signs to look out for include:

- Lurcher or saluki dogs on slip leads in open fields
- 4x4 vehicles driving over crops or driving off-road illegally
- Groups of people using binoculars or lamps in open fields

If you notice any suspicious activity or believe hare coursing is taking place, please call 999 if a crime is in progress, or report suspicious activity via 101, the Wiltshire Police website, or anonymously via Crimestoppers.
