Three people have been charged with drugs offences following proactive policing activity in Chippenham.

Ashraful Islam, 21, of Oakfields, Chippenham, has been charged with being concerned in the supply of cocaine, ketamine, cannabis and ecstasy.

Charlie Salmon, 21, of High Street, Upper Tadmarton, Oxfordshire, and Romelleo Da Silva, 41, of Marshfield Road, Chippenham, have both been charged with being concerned in the supply of cocaine.

All three have been remanded in custody and are due to appear at Swindon Magistrates’ Court today (Wednesday 4th March).

The charges follow a search of a property in Kings Avenue, Chippenham, where officers seized what police described as a substantial quantity of controlled drugs. This included more than 2.5kg of ketamine, 300g of cocaine and 1kg of cannabis.

A further warrant was carried out at an address in Chelwood Close, where additional cocaine was recovered.

Police have since secured a closure order for the Chelwood Close property. The order means that anyone not named on it, commits a criminal offence by entering the address.
