A section of the A4 between Calne and Chippenham will be closed overnight tomorrow to allow urgent road repairs to take place.
Wiltshire Council has said that the A4 in Calne will be closed from the A342 junction to the London Road junction in Chippenham.
The closure is planned for Tuesday 17th March between 7pm and 6am while contractors carry out urgent carriageway patching and maintenance works.
The road is expected to be closed for one night, although the notice allows for a maximum duration of five days if required.
A signed diversion will be in place via the A342, A3102, Eastern Way, Snowberry Lane, A365 and A350.
Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.
The closure will also affect Stagecoach bus services.
Stagecoach said Service 55 will not run between Calne and Chippenham during the closure. After 6.45pm, buses will start and finish in Calne and will not continue to or from Chippenham.
The last bus from Swindon through to Chippenham will leave at 5.40pm, while the last bus from Chippenham Railway Station to Swindon will depart at 6.51pm.
Bus stops between Springfield Academy in Calne and Chippenham Railway Station will not be served during the closure.
