Part of The Pippin in Calne will be closed to traffic for six days next month while Wales & West Utilities carries out work to install a new gas service.

The closure will run from Wednesday 4th November until Monday 9th November, affecting a stretch of around 20 metres just north of the junction with Grierson Close.

Town councillor Jeremy Percy has provided some clarification for residents affected by the closure, particularly those living in Grierson Close.

Cllr Percy said the existing no-entry restriction will be temporarily lifted to allow residents of Grierson Close to drive in and out during the works.

He also confirmed there would be no impact on residents living on the north side of the closure on The Pippin.

The official diversion route will run along the unaffected section of The Pippin, via Oxford Road and back onto The Pippin. Diversion signs will be in place, although Wiltshire Council warns that delays are likely.

Residents with questions about the works can contact Wales & West Utilities on 0800 912 2999.
