Parts of Anchor Road and Bentley Grove in Calne will close for two weeks from 30th November while Wales & West Utilities carries out mains replacement works.

The temporary closure will affect part of Anchor Road, from No. 82 for approximately 50 metres in a south-easterly direction, and part of Bentley Grove, from its junction with Anchor Road for approximately 10 metres in an easterly direction.

The work is scheduled to take place from 30th November until 11th December 2026, although the timeframe may be affected by weather conditions.

Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

A signed diversion will be in place while the roads are closed.

The alternative route will be via Anchor Road, London Road, New Road, The Strand, Mill Street and back to Anchor Road, with the same route used in the opposite direction.

The closure is to allow Wales & West Utilities to carry out mains replacement works and other associated works.

The temporary closure order will come into operation on 30th November 2026 and is scheduled to remain in place until 11th December 2026.

The notice states that the works are anticipated to take the stated duration to complete, depending on weather conditions.

The official indicative plan shows the affected sections of Anchor Road and Bentley Grove and the surrounding road network.
