An urgent temporary road closure has been put in place on part of the A342 at Derry Hill and Studley to allow emergency repair work to be carried out.

Wiltshire Council said the closure came into effect on Friday 1st May in the interests of public safety while Wessex Water carries out urgent leak repairs and associated works.

The affected section runs from the junction with Back Lane for around 120 metres in a northerly direction.

A signed diversion route is in place via the unaffected section of the A342, the A4 and A3102.

Access for residents and businesses will be maintained where possible, although delays are expected during the works.

The closure is expected to remain in place for up to six days, although the notice allows for a maximum duration of 21 days.
