Police are asking parents to speak with their children about the dangers of throwing objects at vehicles after an incident on the A350.
Wiltshire Police said a car was hit by what is believed to be a rock at around 5.30pm on Sunday 3rd May.
The vehicle was travelling along West Cepen Way, between McDonald’s and Lackham College, when the object struck the windscreen.
Officers believe those responsible may have been children aged around 10, who were reportedly hiding in bushes nearby.
Searches of the area were carried out but no one was located.
While the driver was left shaken and the vehicle damaged, no injuries were reported.
Police have stressed the potential consequences of incidents like this and are urging parents to talk to their children about the risks.
