The Wiltshire Community Foundation, a leading grant-giving organisation dedicated to supporting Wiltshire and Swindon, is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join its Board of Trustees.
This recruitment drive comes as the Foundation embarks on an exciting new chapter, celebrating nearly 50 years of service to the community.
With over £2.1 million awarded in 2023/24, impacting more than 72,500 lives across the county, the Foundation addresses a wide range of local needs, focusing on inequality, mental health and wellbeing, and supporting children, young people, and older adults.
As the Foundation prepares for its 50th anniversary, they are actively seeking new board members, particularly those with expertise in accountancy, audit, or the voluntary sector.
Trustees play a vital role in guiding the Foundation's strategic direction, inspiring local philanthropy, and supporting community groups.
Successful applicants will contribute to the development and implementation of a new five-year strategy focused on creating a brighter, more inclusive future.
Previous board experience or a university degree are not required - applications are invited from individuals who might not typically consider themselves for such a role. "This is a great opportunity to be a part of a forward-thinking organisation, who is striving to make a tangible, long-term difference in our communities," said Vicky Hickey, joint Chief Executive of Wiltshire Community Foundation.
"We are looking for new trustees who want to play a significant role in our exciting future, help us to inspire local giving to support the voluntary sector, and help our county thrive."
The Foundation is particularly keen to hear from people with a strong interest in Wiltshire and Swindon, a commitment to positive change, and a willingness to dedicate their time and passion. They aim to build a board that reflects the diversity of the communities they serve, bringing a range of voices, skills, backgrounds, and experiences to the table.
